Understanding P Build-Up at the Surface and Depletion Below
Why do some crops struggle to access phosphorus even when soil-test levels appear adequate? Technical Agronomist Taylor Strehl shares how phosphorus stratification develops in modern reduced-tillage and no-till systems, creating uneven nutrient distribution throughout the soil profile. Learn why phosphorus placement, fixation, and accessibility impact crop nutrition, how standard soil tests can miss subsurface depletion, and how RhizoSorb® technology helps improve phosphorus availability by expanding the zone of plant-accessible phosphorus.

Phospholutions Inc., a pioneer in sustainable fertilizer technology, has announced an additional $10.15M investment from leading global fertilizer companies and investors to accelerate the commercialization of RhizoSorb® in the US row crop market.

Improving Phosphate Fertilizer Economics with RhizoSorb®
Proper soil nutrient management is a delicate balance between economical fertilizer applications and optimal nutrient delivery. Phospholutions Inc. is changing how growers think about and use phosphorus. Following multiple years of field trial success, RhizoSorb® has proven to optimize phosphorus delivery, preserve yield, and improve grower margins by up to 20%.

Phospholutions wins the IFA/UM6P Africa AgTech Startup Showcase
Phospholutions has been selected by agricultural industry leaders as the winner of the IFA/UM6P Africa AgTech Startup Showcase at the IFA Annual Conference in Prague. Phospholutions beat seven other startups to secure the grand prize of €20,000, during a competitive, live final round judged by a jury of experts and with voting by Annual Conference delegates.

Phospholutions’ Pauline Welikhe Wins Emerging Scholar Award: “I Want to Contribute to Food and Water Security”
She says her work focused on managing this finite resource is rooted in economic and social advancement for developing countries. “My drive is simple,” she says. “I want to contribute to food and water security.”

IFA Emerging Scholar Awarded to Dr. Pauline Welikhe
Dr. Welikhe’s research has focused on evaluating phosphorus (P) losses in tile-drained agricultural systems that can help contribute to improved nutrient conservation practice recommendations. She developed environmental indices that can be routinely used to estimate the potential for P loss from fields and applied artificial intelligence to help model P input-output relationships in complex agricultural systems for which there is currently limited understanding.
