Phospholutions Marks Year of Growth; Adoption Accelerates Ahead of Spring Farming Season

STATE COLLEGE, Pa.—FEBRUARY 24, 2026—(BUSINESS WIRE)— Phospholutions, a fertilizer technology company that enhances the efficiency, performance, and sustainability of phosphorus fertilizers, today announced a year of commercial growth as the company enters its next phase of adoption. The milestones come as phosphorus has been designated a U.S. critical mineral, with supply increasingly constrained and price volatility rising, highlighting the significant need for greater nutrient efficiency.
Phospholutions’ growth reflects increasing demand for technologies that deliver measurable results in the field, especially as growers plan for spring, amid continued pressure on input decisions and operating budgets . RhizoSorb®, Phospholutions’ patented fertilizer technology, improves phosphorus use efficiency by helping crops access more of the applied nutrient. Used as a replacement for conventional phosphorus applications, it helps growers get more value from every pound of fertilizer. As adoption builds heading into the 2026 growing season, Phospholutions has:
- Surpassed 1 million acres (row crop or corn equivalent acres) treated with RhizoSorb in commercial crop production last growing season, a significant marker of scale and performance in just the second year of commercial sales
- Demonstrated repeatable, on-farm performance at scale, backed by 700+ trials across crops such as corn, soy, and wheat, and five years of field-scale on-farm data across 18 U.S. states, including statistically significant corn yield gains averaging 1.6% increase at 50% reduction in phosphorus,
- Secured three phosphate manufacturing partners to support consistent supply and expanded production capacity,
- Advanced regulatory progress, including an Association of American Plant Food Control Officials (AAPFCO) Beneficial Substance designation for RhizoSorb, and tentative approval of Enhanced Efficiency Fertilizer,
- Further fortified its global intellectual property footprint with two newly issued U.S. patents in early 2026, bringing its portfolio to 11 independent patent families spanning 100 countries, supported by trade secrets, trademarks, and deep technical know-how,
- Expanded international momentum with shipments into Canada and Brazil, plus market development and trial sites across 13 countries in Latin America, and six additional global markets already underway, and
- Strengthened its leadership and governance with key appointments and promotions, additional board expertise, and advanced plans to hire a key commercial leader in Brazil to support regional growth.
“This past year marked a step-change for Phospholutions, from proving performance to scaling adoption,” said Hunter Swisher, CEO and Founder of Phospholutions. “We’ve validated RhizoSorb across crops and geographies, strengthened our manufacturing foundation, and expanded market access in the U.S. and internationally. Heading into the 2026 season, our focus is execution at scale by expanding availability through our partners and delivering measurable value for growers, acre by acre.”
To support its next phase of growth, Phospholutions strengthened its leadership team and governance. The company appointed Justin Archibee as Chief Financial Officer, elevated Michael Castiglione to Chief Operating Officer and Steve Levitsky to Chief Administrative and Sustainability Officer, appointed Julia Andrus as Marketing and Communications Manager, and added Weston Heide of The Andersons to its Board of Directors.
“We believe that Phospholutions has moved from a promising, innovative company to having scalable execution,” said Suyash Bulchandani, Vice President of Conti Ventures, Continental Grain Company, an investor in Phospholutions. “The company has demonstrated performance at commercial scale and strengthened production capability to meet demand, and we believe it continues to build defensibility through intellectual property and strong execution. We’re looking forward to continuing to support Phospholutions as it enters its next stage of growth and expands access for growers across markets.”
