What is RhizoSorb®?

Rhizosorb 8-39-0 is a next-generation dry phosphate fertilizer that replaces MAP or DAP.

RhizoSorb technology is incorporated into traditional phosphate manufacturing, resulting in a finished granule that improves phosphate use efficiency, reduces input costs, and maintains crop yields.

How does RhizoSorb® work?

Phosphate is adsorbed onto the surface of RhizoSorb® during granulation and keeps phosphorus from tying up in the soil when applied to fields.

RhizoSorb® controls the release of phosphorus based on plant needs rather than environmental conditions like MAP or DAP.

RhizoSorb® reduces soil tie-up and environmental loss by keeping more of what's applied available throughout the season.

What research do you have on RhizoSorb®?

In addition to years of product development and research by Penn State, hundreds of replicated, small plot and on-farm trials have been completed. Trials have been conducted across 18 states and over a period of 5 years.

What are the environmental benefits?

RhizoSorb® reduces phosphate runoff by 78%. In addition, a third-party Life Cycle Assessment shows RhizoSorb® has a 45% lower GHG footprint per acre than traditional MAP.

Can RhizoSorb® be blended with other products?

RhizoSorb® can be blended and applied like any other dry fertilizer and the application method doesn’t affect performance.

How is RhizoSorb® Priced?

Although the cost per ton is higher, RhizoSorb® is cheaper per acre than MAP. RhizoSorb® is more efficient; therefore, we use less fertilizer to deliver the same amount of phosphate to the crop.

On average, growers save $5-7 per acre, and RhizoSorb® has demonstrated a yield increase of 3-5 bushels, generating an ROI of $20 per acre compared to MAP.

How does RhizoSorb® perform compared to other phosphate efficiency products?

Unlike other products on the market, RhizoSorb® has reliable and consistent results across crops and soil types. It doesn't cost more to use, and no changes to retail or farm operations are needed. RhizoSorb® technology is not a biological or biostimulant but rather a soil chemistry approach to controlling the release of applied phosphates.

How can I be sure it will work for my growers?

Growers can take advantage of RhizoSorb®'s Grower Guarantee Program. This program protects their revenue up to $40 per acre if yields are less than their 10-year APH or actual production history. Growers must apply a minimum of 200 acres of RhizoSorb® to corn or soybeans and enroll at Phospholutions.com.
